Rebecca Rey Zapata received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology both from Angelo State University in San Angelo, TX. Rebecca is a West Texas native and has resided in San Angelo since 2000. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor certified by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors in 2014. Rebecca has served as the FQHC & Rural Outreach Coordinator since 2019.
Rebecca has over 10 years of experience in social services working directly with children, families, other state agencies and the judicial system to plan for a child’s permanency. In this capacity, she worked with families dealing with issues such as substance abuse, neglect, trauma, adjustment issues, depression and anxiety.
Rebecca is interested in continuing to work with individuals, children and adolescents and in helping clients with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, self-esteem issues as well as with other mental health concerns.
Rebecca has an interest in using Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help clients understand that one’s thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors are directly connected to their moods and responses to their own environment.
