Karren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas and New Mexico. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches LA in 2012 and her Master of Social Work at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 2013.
Karren spent the first part of her career working in psychiatric hospital settings providing individual and group therapy to individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideations, mood disorders, and psychosis. She joined the WTCG team in 2017 and then relocated to Georgia in 2021, gaining additional experience working within the geriatric community. Karren is enthusiastic about rejoining the WTCG team via telehealth and enjoys working with ages 16 and over.
Karren is experienced and trained in several evidenced-based modalities proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She utilizes an integrative approach that is person-centered and strengths based, which allows for collaborative work to overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of personal growth and fulfillment.
