Ileana is a licensed clinical social worker in the state of New Mexico. She earned her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Western New Mexico University in 2016 and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work at Eastern New Mexico University in 2015. She is a board approved supervisor through the New Mexico Board of Social Work and has worked as a clinical supervisor for the Artesia Public schools since 2022. Ileana is currently working on her certification to become a Registered Play Therapist.
Ileana specializes in working with children and families from a trauma informed perspective. She has been a school social worker for 9 years and has worked with children from 4-18 years of age. She has experience working with issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, autism, learning disabilities, self-esteem, and behavioral issues. Ileana is a strength-based therapist who uses person-centered approach and Play Therapy techniques to guide the therapeutic process and establish meaningful relationships with her clients. She is passionate about helping children make positive social emotional growth. Her goal is to provide children a safe space to navigate difficult situations while exploring their internal worlds through play and connection.
